Takes 2 to Q’s Mary VanDeCarr

Today (November 13, 2019) the dog world lost one very special lady. Many of us knew and called Mary VanDeCarr our friend.  At almost 94 years old (her birthday was in December), she had lived a very full and interesting life and you could sit and listen to her stories, usually laughing with her about them, for hours. In addition to being an agility wonder for her age, she was a devoted mom, to her two and four-legged family.  Good Shepherd Canine Rescue was also her baby and, although she had passed its operation to Sherry Pederquist many years ago, she was still fully supportive of it.  She was also a member of several dog clubs, but we at Takes 2 to Q like to claim her especially as our own. We created the Mary VanDeCarr award approximately 6 years ago and honor one club member annually.  Of course, Mary was our first honoree.

Oh, Mary, you will truly be missed. Hope you’re having a wonderful celebration with all your pups who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge and have been waiting to be reunited with you again.
