Well, wasn’t this a memorable weekend! Many of us learned for the first time what it’s like to trial at twilight indoors or by a couple of pretty high intensity floodlights. (There were a few power outages.) And, yes, there is a dog and handler running in the photo below. This one was pre-floodlights.
On behalf of the members of Takes 2 to Q and all of our participants, I’d like to thank our judge Don Skibniewski for the enjoyable and challenging courses and his always positive attitude (which, given judging in the dark, says a whole lot).
To all of our members and participants, thanks so much for your cooperation and assistance in moving things along, especially considering the power issues on Saturday (yet again). The scorekeepers quickly rolled out the scores very soon after each class completed and our course builders also did a great job, even in the dark. Thanks also go to our exceptional Hospitality, Ribbon, Tarp, Volunteer Coordinator and Special Raffle Committee members. Finally, and possibly most importantly, for all her hard work over the past several months, thanks to our wonderful Trial Secretary, Dottie Piroha. She even got the results sent to participants within less than 24 hours.
Congratulations to the deserving winners of the Judge’s Merit Awards, Kathi Delphia (with Kaycee) on Saturday and Chris Elson (with Rush) on Sunday. Similar kudos to the double-digit aged dogs and their owners – Connie Brown and Gracie for their Standard run on Saturday and Wendy Cerilli and Coltie for their Jackpot run on Sunday – winners of the Veterans Awards.
We truly hope everyone enjoyed themselves and would love to see you again for our next trial on May 11-12, 2019 with Judge JoLee Yeddo.
Laurie Kurtzman (Trial Chair)
